As you may know, discussions have been going on for many years about how to best organize the ~185 living alumni of the CMU AAB and provide opportunities to continue to engage while leveraging our passion and commitment to the university and AAB. So, the Alumni Association Board Alumni (hereto known as the AABA) Network has been formed!
We plan to host network events as we get organized. We are also prioritizing a philanthropic focus and want to support the work of the current AAB as they partner with the university. We also anticipate identifying our own fundraising focuses over time. We are planning to spend much of this year honing our goals, including this important component.
AABA Mission
The Alumni Association Board Alumni (AABA) Network will serve as a resource for CMU’s global alumni community to promote the mutual interests of Carnegie Mellon University and its alumni by staying meaningfully connected to the Alumni Association Board, collaborating with CMU’s Office of Alumni & Constituent Engagement, maintaining and developing their ties with their alma mater, and sharing their pride in the university in everything that they do.
AABA Goals
Engagement - identify and promote targeted opportunities for former board members to engage and reconnect with the AAB, alumni networks, and/or the university in mutually purposeful ways.
Communication - Share and promote priorities, news, accomplishments, and AAB history between the university, AAB and our alumni.
Networking - Provide and promote opportunities for current and former board members to connect socially and professionally.
Pride - Promote pride in our alma mater.
Philanthropy - Support targeted philanthropic initiatives in partnership with the AAB to contribute to the university.
